Setup a Virtual Server Host
Section One
Installing Fedora
Create a CD and run the CD.
After booting up to the CD, click on "Install Fedora 43."
In my case, I am in the US and going to use English. Select your language and location then click next.
In the next window you are going to confirm the installation destination and enter a user or root password. In my example, I confirmed the installation destination.
In most cases, you just have to click on the Installation Destination icon and click Done.
In my example, I am going to give the pc a hostname and a static IP. You can do this by selecting Network and Hostname.
I select the hostname of "cloud1" and then click Apply.
To set a static ip address. You will have to click on the "Configure" button in the bottom right corner.
Then you are going to click on the "IPv4 Settings."
In Method change it from "Automatic DHCP" to "Manual"
Then click on "Add" and enter your local IP Address.
In my case, I used "10.1.3.6" as the IP Address, and I entered my gateway and DNS servers.
For the Netmask, you can use this calculator. Click the button below.
I am using public ones of 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
Then click save
Click on the "Root Account".
For my example, I clicked on "Enable root account" and entered a password.
I also checked "Allow root SSH login with password".
Click "Done"
After all the information is entered, click on "Begin Installation"
The os will be installed.
Once Fedora Server is finished installing, you will need to confirm by removing the CD and clicking on "Reboot System."
After rebooting the pc boot to a command line screen, but you can access the server from the cockpit.
If you did not set up a static ip address, it will display a ip address in the top left section.
